Chronology

Torpedo work ship. Built to relieve Mercuur (1).
Mainly used to pick up exercise torpedoes and for temporarily
maintenance of these torpedoes.
4 July 1936: Commissioned.
15 May 1940: Captured by the Germans and renamed Merkur.
May 1945: Found at Rotterdam and repaired
1 Apr 1948: Re-commissioned.
1957: Installation of  tube (proto type) especially for torpedoes.
1958: The special '' tube is removed and fitted on the Amsterdam.
1959 - 1960: Diesel engine installed. All 'steam gear' removed.
19??: Sold
19??: Renamed Maartje
2005: The ship is renamed to Mercuur again and is currently (late 2005) binnenhaven in Rotterdam where the outside and inside are being restored. The inside will be made suitable for living. The ship will be use as a seegoing yacht and will be braught back to her original state as much as possible. Her home port is now Scheveningen.
