| Chronology | Former frigate/torpedo instruction vessel. 6 Nov 1876: Laid down as De Ruyter 7 January 1879: Renamed Koningin Emma der Nederlanden. 20 Jan 1879: Launched. 1 Dec 1880: Commissioned. 21 Dec 1888: Decommissioned. Nov 1889 - May 1890: Refit, including new boilers 17 May 1890: Re-commissioned 22 May 1896: Decommissioned. May 1896 - Jun 1897: Refit. 16 Jun 1897: Re-commissioned. 1899/1900: Guns removed in Soerabaja and used for the local defences. 23 Jun 1900: Decommissioned. 1908: Disarmed and converted to an accommodation ship for the main/spare crew of the O 1, and the in Willemsoord (Den Helder naval base) stationed submarine personnel. Relieved the ship Marnix. 16 Nov 1908: Commissioned 1920: Wachtship at Willemsoord (Den Helder naval base) 14 May 1940: Captured by the Germans. 1942: Capsized and sunk in Den Helder Apr 1943: Salved,then scuttled North of Fort Harssens. |
