Roele.During the commissioning voyage of these subs C.A.F. van Well Groeneveld was youngest officer. N. Kooyman was Ltz. 2 TD (he is now Schout bij Nacht. b.d., which equals Rear Admiral ret. J. van Nieuwenhuizen was submarine commander and had the rank of Ltz. 1, He left the Navy in 1954 as Overste. C. Reitsma was Ltz. 1 TD, Chief Engine room, and retired as Schout bij nacht b.d. . J.R. Roele was 4th Off. and later commanded the first '3 cylinder', the Dolfijn. He made a voyage around-the-world and war patrols off the New Guinea coast in 1962.
