These photos are taken by Wim Meurer during the 2002 'dodenherdenking' at the WWII Submarine Service memorial in Den Helder. During the 'dodenherdenking', held nationwide every year on may 4th, the Dutch remember the people that have fallen during World War II and the wars thereafter. W. Meurer is grandson of W.M.K.F. Meurer, bootsman of K XVII.
