This list is just to give the reader an rough impression about the successes of the Dutch commanders in WWII and is not definite at all. Some tonnage is estimated, and the sinkings that are credited to several commanders (by different sources) are not taken into account. When several sources contradict each other on the tonnage of a vessel, the lowest figure is used for this list. The following two pages were used to compile this list:
