According to a Dutch subvet: "Van Boetzelaer was against the British custom of odd flags" (like battle flags and special pennants)
The only Dutch commander that commanded the same vessel (K XV) during the complete war. From November 15th 1940, when the ship after 6 months maintenance returned to service, to 20 February 1946.
Attended course at the NATO Defence College.
