Van-Baaren, Mike Mike his father, H.A. Van-Baaren, served on board the K XV, Dolfijn (2) and the Walrus (1). Mike provided several images of his fathers collection.

Burgerhout, Robert Robert has a really good eye for detail and can combine many pieces of information. With these skills he identified many unknown submarines on various photos.
Burgers, Theo Theo is an ex-sailor of the Dutch Navy. He provided the image of the tender Cornelius Drebbel (2).and technical data on the A 883.
Broers, Paul Paul is grand son of T.J. Broers, who perished on board the K XVI. He provided images and info on T,J. Broers and L.J. Jarman.
Brouwers, Peter Crewmember of the O 27, Tijgerhaai (1) and Zwaardvis (1). Peter provided lots of great photos of the subs he sailed on, including the photo's for the Tijgerhaai (1) photo special and the Zwaardvis (1) photo special. P. Bussemaker , A.P. (Ton) Member of the team that rediscovered and identified the O 16. Son of the famous Ltz. I  A.J. Bussemaker, who commanded the submarines K VIII, K XI, K XIII, O 16, O 20. A.P. Bussemaker provided several unique photos and wrote the special Location the Hr.Ms. Submarine O 16.
B&J Diving Ben, of B&J, provided numerous underwater photos of the K XVII wreck.

Jaspers, Joop Webmaster of the Potvis website . He provided the beautiful photograph of Tonijn, Dolfijn (3) and Potvis in Faslane. He also provided dozens of other images and numerous pieces of information on the Dutch submarines.
Jeffrey, Andrew Provided information about the Dutch submarines based in Scotland during World War II.
Jones, Mark Amateur naval historian interested in the smaller allied navies-in-exile. He reported many typo's and conflicting data and was also a great help in gathering information about the Royal Navy Submarine Flotillas. He also wrote several interesting book reviews.

Kal, Johan (Gijs) van Johan provided many beautiful images of Zeeleeuw (1). Johan, aka Gijs, was stationed on board Zeeleeuw (1) in 1968 and 1969.
Kamsteeg, Bert Bert is a ex-submariner and he provided images and information on the Tonijn.
Keijzer, Adrie (Arie) de Sailed with the O 24, Walrus (1) and the Tijgerhaai (1). He provided several beautiful images of Tijgerhaai (1) and dozens of photos on Walrus (1).
Keys, George A. Wrote his eyewitness account about K XV's "torpedo loading accident" at New London submarine base.
Kindell, Don Don is an amateur naval historian. His main interest is RN personnel and operational information. He provided information on the Dutch subs that were attached to the RN flotillas.

De Kloe, Jan Johannes  IV He provided information and great photographs about the Turkish submarines, and the K XIII that were built at the Dutch Fijenoord shipyard. He got this information from his grandfather who was employed at the Fijenoord shipyard until 1949. He also provided very interesting information regarding the submarines O 19, O 20, O 24 and pieces of information for numerous other pages.
Klootwijk, Jan Jan provided numerous Dutch submarine/tender photos and lots of unique information on several submarine tenders.
Koning, Hendrik B. Henk made unique colour images of O 24 during WWII and gave us permission to display them on the site.
C.M. Koomen Cees provided many interesting details and photos on the voyage of the 'Pelikaan division' to the Dutch East Indies.

Lock, Kevin & Fogarty, Saxon Kevin provided several K XI images from his collection. The photos were taken by Saxon Fogarty.
Lootsma, Piet Sybren Anne Kokee provided several unique 1925 pictures from Ambon taken by her grandfather Piet Lootsma.

Manen, Hero van Hero is an ex crew member of Zwaardvis (2) and he provided many images and pieces of information on this sub.
Ivan Martens Ivan provided information on the Catalina  aircrew picked up by K XII on 25 Dec 1941.
Martínez Mezo, Gorka L. Amateur historian who wrote the article about the export of Dolfijn class submarines to Spain. He also assisted in finding info about the Moray class submarines and reports frequently news facts regarding the Dutch submarines. This contributors page was also his idea.
McArthur, David David provided the impressive panorama view of the subs at Faslane that celebrated the Clyde Submarine Base anniversary in June 2001.
McCue, Gary W. Webmaster of John Philip Holland (1841-1914) And His Submarines. He provided many details for the O 1 page and is also the 'artist' of the O 1 line drawing.
James McGrath The Grandfather of James his wife kept a diary while he was a POW in Hong Kong. where he met one of the officers of the O 20, Sub Lt Huidekoper. He wrote a detailed account of her last action (in English) for her grandfather, who incorporated the report into a diary which he kept throughout the war. James provided this great article to this website.
McLaughlin, Brett Wrote the special: 'Cornelius Drebbel and the first submarine'.
McLeod, Ian Ian provided details on the career of H.C.J. Coumou.
McMcarthy, Mike Curator of the Maritime Archaeology department of the Western Australian Maritime Museum. He provide information about the fates of the submarines K XI, K XII and K VIII.
Menheere, Ton Ton is an ex-crewmember of Zeehond (3) and he provided many images of the Zeehond (3) and the Tonijn, including the great torpedo transfer at sea series.
Merrienboer, J. van Co-author of the book Van Buitengaats naar Binnenhof. Johan provided information and photos on submarine commander P.J.S. de Jong naval and political career.
Meurer, Wim Wim made several beautiful photos of the OZD memorial in Den Helder. He gave his kind permission to include his photos on this site. Wim his grandfather was bootsman on the K XVII.
Mittelstaedt, Gerard Tracked down various WWII Newsweek articles about the Dutch Submarines in the Pacific. A picture of one of the Newsweek covers can be found on the K XVII page.
Moderate, John S Diver who explored the wreck of the K XVII. He provided all the great underwater images of the K XVII wreck.
Morcombe, John John is a journalist who wrote two stories on the K XII for The Manly Daily newspaper in 1998. He gave permission to use his articles for this site and provided lots of information on the fate of K XII. John also provided photos of the revealed wreck of K IX.
Muir, Dan Amateur naval historian specialized in the WWII Japanese Navy. He provided lots info and great images of various submarines and tenders.

Ness, Leland Lee provided several Dutch Submarine images from the USN archives.
Noma, Hisashi Hisashi Noma is an authority on the subject of Japanese Merchant vessels. He is also author of the following books: Great Passenger Liners in History (1991), These Beautiful Ships(1981), Passenger Liners: Past & Present (1974), Japanese Merchant Ships at War (late 2001). He also collects pre-WWII brochures and pictures of Japanese passenger liners. Hisashi Noma provided information and images on many Japanese vessels that where attacked by the Dutch submarines in WWII.
Noot, Maarten Maarten his father in law was a Dutch submariner who served aboard K XIV. Maarten provided many images from his collection.
Norderberg, Per Per provided valuable details on the subs IVS designed for Sweden.
Nijhoff, George Ex-submariner (Zeeleeuw (2) and Walrus (2)) who provided several pieces of information and also the very nice image of the Sonar Operator certificate.

Onderwater, Ben Ben is a former crew member of the Dolfijn (4) and he provided several great images for the persicope shots page and numurous images for the Sea Dragon class pages..
Ophuizen, Mari van Mari (aka Bulleke), ex crew member of the Tijgerhaai (2),provided the image of the Rescue demonstration at the Maas river This image was a present to him from Wim Jansen, ex crew member of the Tijgerhaai (1). He also provided many other submarine images.
O'Shaughnessy, Frank Franks is a WWII veteran and wrote the very interesting article The Airplane and the Sub.
Otterloo, Jo van Jo provided several very nice images of Zwaardvis (1) and Tijgerhaai (1) in the 1950's.

Pennock, Gerard Ex-submariner who provided the image of Potvis 'dressed up' and the great photo series of Zwaardvis (2) surfacing.
Perkins, Dave Chief Petty Officer 2nd Class Weapons Underwater Technician, joined the RCN in 1954 and served in British and Canadian submarines. Wrote many historical articles and is the author of the books 'Canada's Submariners 1914-1923', 'Submarine Sailor' and 'Canada's Wartime Submariners'.
He supported this website by providing info and great photographs about the 'A/S training boat' duties of  the O 15 for the RCN in Halifax. He also assisted in gathering information about the torpedoes used by the Dutch Submarine Service.
Peters, Norman Related to the original salvers of K IX. He provided several images for the K IX photo special.
Peter Podlewski Peter provided lots of info for the list with info regarding Torpedo & Mine Explosives.
Postma, Harrie Harrie is grandson of Oebele Postma, who perished in the O 11 tragedy.

Tall, Eric & Donald Donald provided the pictures of K II, K VII, K VIII and K IX made in manila in 1926 by his father Eric.
Eric G. Tall,  was a Electrician's Mate Second Class EM2(SS) on the S-30.  He served between 1924 and 1927.
Donald E. Tall is a Electronics Technician First Class ET1(SS). He served between 1958 and 1967 on the USS Carbonero SS-337, USS Tullibee SSN-597 and the USS Flasher SSN-613 (part of comm. crew). He served as a Reactor Operator on both nuclear boats.
Taminiau, Frans & A.J. Frans his son provided the photos of K XI's deck gun. Frans himself provided valuable information on the Dutch subs operating from Australia in WWII.
Teesselink, Ronald Ronald was aboard the submarines Zeeleeuw (1) and Dolfijn (3) in the early 1960's. He provided several very nice photos of 'his' submarines.

Tennant, Charlie Charlie is the author of the very interesting Clyde Submarine Celebrations article. He did not only write the text but also made many beautiful and interesting photos of the visiting subs.
Teunissen, Nico (Teun) Ex-crewmember of Zwaardvis (2) and Potvis. He provided the text/photos for several photo specials and reported numerous other pieces of information.
Tigchelaar, Derek Son of submariner Gerrit Tigchelaar. Derek provided the WWII memoirs of his father and several great photos (that can be found on the same page).
Tilro, Arjen Arjen provided several images of the O and K boats in the 1940's from the collection of his grandfather Marinus Tilro. Marinus was a submariner in the Dutch Navy and perished on board the O 20.
Toon, Frank U.S. Submariner who put me in contact with Siem Spruijt. He also provided the very nice 2nd picture of the surfacing of O 19
Taminiau, Frans Johan Family of C.A.J and C.A.F van Well Groeneveld. C.A.J commanded O 6, K X, K XII, K XIV, K XVI, K XVIII, and C.A.F commanded Zwaardvis (1), Zeeleeuw (1). He is also webmaster of 'Corvettes of the Royal Australian Navy'.
Since Frans lives in Australia he was able to provide me with some very interesting pieces of information about the fate of K VIII, which was based at Fremantle during the war. He also took the photographs of  the Fremantle Dutch Submarine Memorial. These photographs will be added to this site at a later date.
He and his son (Anton) also provided the pictures of the deck gun of K XI.
Timmerman, Auke Former Telegraphist (WL operator) on board Zeehond (3), Zeeleeuw (1) and Dolfijn (3). He provided many pieces of information on the history of these subs. Auke also provided the image: 'General Submarine Knowledge' certificate and several images for the picture specials.
Tijn, Leonardo van Provides information, about the Dutch submarines, that is published in the Helderse Courant, a Dutch newspaper in Den Helder, the home base of the Royal Dutch Navy. He retired from the Navy in 1976. Although he never became a submariner he has the first grade (flipper) for the Dutch Submarines. Of course Leo is still proud of it.

Verheijden, Alfons Alfons his uncle J.H. van Bastelaar was lost on board the O 20. Alfons provided valuable info on the fate of the O 20.
Vermeulen, D.A.C. Dick his grandfather was crew member of the O 6. Dick provided the great image of the O 6 crew.
Viglietti, Brian M. Brian is a former Commander of the Italian Navy. He provided many additions and corrections on the attacks on the Italian units.

Waldekker, Frits Matroos Frits Waldekker is a former crew member (Matroos zeemilicien from 1976-1977) of Zeehond (3). He provided dozens of photos of the Zeehond (3). And information concerning Esq. Z.J.J. van Asch van Wijck.
Warlich, Ron Former Mtr1 ODOPS of Tijgerhaai (2) (1985-1990). He provided the great image of the surfacing Tijgerhaai (2)
Whitelaw, Paul Paul provided great images of the Bruinvis visiting New Castle.
